    Warrants had already been issued for Derrick McMillan on charges of injury to personal property, second-degree trespass and misdemeanor larceny when a Fairmont police officer spotted him at L&M Convenient Store on Friday, according to a statement from the Fairmont Police Department. According to the statement, McMillan saw the officer and got into a white Ford Focus, driving about three miles before running head-on into a tree on Stone Road near Iona Church Road.

    A Fairmont man has been charged with murder following an argument that turned deadly on Friday, according to the Robeson County Sheriff's Office Joseph Howard Faulk is charged with first-degree murder for shooting and killing Jamie Lee Stone, who lived down the road from him on Leggett Road, according to a statement from the Sheriff's Office. According to the statement, "there had been an earlier argument" between Stone and Faulk at Stone's home on the 200 block of Leggett Road.
