    A 30-year-old man from Bridgeport was sentenced today by a U.S. District judge to over 10 years of federal prison followed by three years of supervised release for his role in multiple armed robberies in 2014. Derrick Gilliam was arrested on July 3, 2014 and has since been detained.

    A former Connecticut married couple who now call Florida home were indicted today by a federal grand jury on a charge of possessing and distrubuting oxycodone. 73 year old Harry Duren and 53 year old Sandra Duren, both of Seminole county Florida, are accused of getting medications with oxycodone from doctors in Connecticut and reselling the medication for their own profit.

Fifty-three-year-old Carol Cardillo of Fairfield pleaded not guilty Tuesday in Bridgeport to charges including second-degree manslaughter.

According to court documents and statements made in court, on April 26, 2014, Gilliam, Lancelot Supersad and others committed an armed robbery of the CVS Pharmacy on Grasmere Avenue in Fairfield, stealing approximately $2,376.
