After years of being told there was nothing that could be done to stop train horns from sounding at crossings in their town, Atherton officials have filed paperwork that should lead to making the stretch of the town's railroad tracks near the Fair Oaks Lane crossing into a "quiet zone," where trains could sound their horns only if they encounter a hazard. On Monday, March 21, the town filed a "notice of intent" to establish a quiet zone at the Fair Oaks crossing. Comment?
