    The Major George Gibson Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution met July 28 at the Karlan Mansion, Wilderness Road State Park, Ewing, Virginia to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the official founding of the chapter and to welcome prospective members. Chapter Regent Nancy Britton opened the meeting and welcomed the 28 guests and members to the chapter's 100 year birthday celebration.

Perdue was born in Bonaire, Georgia, and was a farmer, veterinarian, and the governor of Georgia before he was appointed to the position of Secretary of Agriculture by President Donald Trump in early 2017.
