The Redwood Community Action Agency Youth Service Bureau is coordinating the Solid Ground Campaign, which recently received a nearly $28,000 donation from Bear River.

    The CASA fundraising season officially kicked off Aug. 1 and runs through to the 14th annual Kid Walk, a 1-mile walk in Old Town Eureka during Arts Alive on Saturday, Oct. 1. According to the release, all the money each team raises by holding fundraisers and getting sponsorships will support CASA of Humboldt's work to advocate for local kids who need us most. The release states that more foster children in Humboldt County than ever are in need of a CASA - which stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates - who will speak up for them and stand by their side while they navigate the complex and overworked child welfare system.
