The agreement signed Monday by federal officials calls for Louisiana Crane and Construction LLC in Eunice to pay $165,000 in civil penalties.

    The Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office will arrest a former part-time Rayne police officer on a warrant for multiple sex crimes against children as soon as he is released from the hospital, spokeswoman Maxine Trahan said. Investigators obtained a warrant for Troy Bryant Menard on Aug. 7 on two counts of sexual battery on a minor and one count each of lewd or lascivious on a minor and aggravated crime against nature after Rayne Police Chief Carroll Stelly received a tip about an alleged incident that occurred involving Menard.
