It's Oregon! It's winter Steelhead season and anybody that fishes for winter Steelhead, they're a different breed," Blaser's friend and fellow fisherman, Dave Harding, told KATU News.

A forest fire six weeks ago had already caused a closure on the highway between mileposts 31 and 36. It had made the land vulnerable to landslides.
