    A young woman lead an Erie police officer on a pursuit early Saturday, threatening him first with her car, then with a handgun, before turning the weapon on herself, and taking her life. Police Chief Don Dacus told Erie News Now that the woman, a 20-year-old from Millcreek, first swerved into the officer's lane at 11th and State, about 2:30 a.m. nearly hitting his cruiser head-on.

Most of the refugees in the project come from the Middle East -- countries such as Iraq and Syria --, but also South Sudan, and suffered through war and other violence.
