    With family and friends looking on Leanne Kalb was given the 2015 Harrisburg Volunteer Citizen of the Year Award at a ceremony at the East Pennsboro District offices in Enola, Pa., Aug. 19. Kalb, a volunteer in the kindergarten classrooms, noticed some kids didn't seem to have the same level of energy as others. After talking with teachers she found out some kids didn't have enough food in the morning.

The judges also rejected 49-year-old Michael Andrew Noll's claim that he can't afford to pay a $100 fine slapped on him by a county judge for the bizarre August 2013 crime in East Pennsboro Township.

    Taylor Ann Jacobs-Deimler, 23, of Enola was staying with a friend in Shermans Dale when her estranged husband showed up at 5:07 on Sunday morning, May 17, with a handgun. Perry County Coroner Michael Shalonis said the estranged husband, Michael Lloyd Deimler, 25, also of Enola, shot both his estranged wife and her companion in the head before turning the gun on himself.
