    Norfolk Southern rerailed one freight car and removed at least seven others from the tracks after a derailment Tuesday afternoon. The company hopes to have all damaged cars moved a safe distance away from the track so it can reopen the busy rail line overnight or early Wednesday, said Dave Pidgeon, a spokesman for Norfolk Southern.

    Tom Seidel, of Seidel's Custom Butchering in Blain, said hunters brought more than 50 deer to the shop on Monday and Tuesday morning, which is "a bit low" for recent years. Noting that the shop may have seen a hundred or more deer by this point in the season back when antlered and antlerless deer could be hunted concurrently during the first week of the rifle hunting season for deer, he explained that when the commission moved to concurrent seasons only in the second week "it dropped dramatically."
