    Elmhurst, IL - The City of Elmhurst is proud to announce the largest stormwater project since the early '90s, the Walnut/Myrtle/Evergreen Stormwater Improvement Project, is scheduled to begin Feb. 8. This project will entail the construction of a series of storm sewers pipes along various streets and a drainage outfall to the Elmhurst Quarry Flood Control Facility to provide overland flood relief in the Walnut/Myrtle/Evergreen flood problem area, located adjacent to the quarry in the west side corner of the City. In the early '90s, the City and DuPage County implemented the Elmhurst Levee and Elmhurst Quarry Flood Control Facility projects to protect Elmhurst residents from Salt Creek overtopping its banks.
