    An investigation is ongoing into a wreck that killed three members of a family the evening of Friday, Feb. 3 in Elko, according to Lance Corporal Judd Jones of the South Carolina Highway Patrol. All three members of the same family from Aiken were riding together in a 2006 Toyota Four Runner when their SUV was struck head-on by a 1999 Chevrolet van driven by 61-year-old William Givens of Williston, said Jones.

The meeting then was opened for public comment during which City of Barnwell Mayor Ed Lemon and Snelling resident Tim Moore both asked the council not to approve a pending ordinance which would dissolve the Barnwell County Economic Development Corporation and withdraw all powers except advisory from the Economic Development Commission.
