Moore Elementary, replacing Sara English, and Stephanie Ambrose as principal of Weeksville Elementary School, replacing Angela Cobb who is now serving at Northeastern High. Jackson-Heard is slated to report Monday and Ambrose will begin at Weeksville on Oct 1. Shel Davis, a retired principal for ECPPS, has been serving as the interim principal at Weeksville.

    Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools officials decided to close schools today because of flooding conditions throughout the city and the county in the aftermath of Hurricane Florence. "We realize the flooding does not affect everyone; however, the areas impacted affect a large portion of the city and county," ECPPS officials said in an email issued shortly before 6:45 a.m. "We understand the frustration behind our decision to close school again today, but we must make these decisions with the safety of our students and staff as the priority," the ECPPS officials said.
