A federal judge found Duke Energy Corp. guilty Thursday of nine misdemeanor counts related to last year's coal ash spill on the Dan River and other environmental violations. U.S. District Judge Malcolm Howard recessed court after passing judgment and was scheduled to sentence Duke later today.
