    According to Alex City Police Deputy Chief Easterwood, the crash happened around 7:45 a.m. on Highway 280 at the intersection of Alabama Highway 63. A 2010 Ford F-150 and a Honda Accord were both heading Westbound when the crash happened. The Alexander City Outlook says Sneed worked for the news organization as an executive editor, overseeing the news operations for the Tallapoosa Publishers family of newspapers including the Alex City Outlook, the Wetumpka Herald, the Dadeville Record, the Tallassee Tribune and Eclectic Observer.

    Franklin says the shooting that took 68-year-old Roger Withington's life happened on Boswell Road in the Central Community, just outside of Eclectic at around 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The sheriff's office's investigation indicates Larry Vann, 74, shot Withington twice while Withington was sitting in a recliner, then Vann shot himself in the head.

    A child is dead after a two-vehicle crash happened just outside of Eclectic Thursday, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. ALEA says the crash between a Mack garbage truck and a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer took place around 12:55 p.m. The crash resulted in the death of a 9-year-old girl, who ALEA Cpl.
