    Haint Blue Brewing won the battle - a court hearing over a zoning variance for the site of a planned downtown microbrewery -- but aspiring brewery owner Keith Sherrill said he's rethinking the war. Sherrill has announced via Facebook that he plans to find another location for Haint Blue Brewing, despite a recent court ruling that granted a zoning variance for his preferred site, a former Crystal Ice facility at 806 Monroe St. "It's unfortunate that things have unfolded the way that they have and we've been met with countless setbacks," Sherrill wrote in the post.

    A circuit court judge has ruled in favor of Haint Blue Brewing's plan to make beer in a former Crystal Ice building in downtown Mobile, but the brewery's founder says it's too early for fanfare. The ruling was handed down by Circuit Court Judge Ben Brooks on Oct. 5, as the city's attention probably was more on looming Hurricane Nate than on its budding microbrewery scene.
