Tuolumne County deputies responded to a Subway restaurant on Mono Way on an employee's report that a woman had attempted to use a fraudulent $100 bill to purchase a sandwich meal, Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Andrea Benson said.

The move is part of a larger consolidation for the Oregon-based company that began with the closure of 26 branches last year, including locations in Jamestown and Columbia.
