GlobalSpec, a publishing company that served the engineering market, was acquired in 2011 from Warburg Pincus by publishing giant IHS of Englewood, Colo., for $135 million.

    An East Greenbush man who had pleaded guilty to felony charges for allegedly stealing from a donut shop he ran before setting it on fire, was allowed to withdraw his plea Wednesday because of a court error. Ryan J. Sweeney of Miller Road, former manager of a Dunkin' Donuts shop in downtown Rensselaer, had earlier pleaded guilty to third-degree arson, second-degree criminal mischief and fourth-degree grand larceny for the April 27, 2012, incident.
