    Eight people are facing charges for shoplifting and/or stealing from Walmart and Target or relatives plus four more are in protective custody, according to the East Greenbush P.D. Donna Credido, 55, of Rensselaer is accused of taking $165 worth of merchandise from the Walmart jewelry sales display and leaving the store without paying, police said. Anthony Moore, 37, with no permanent address, was arrested when he left Walmart with over $800 worth of butane lighters and hair-grooming products without paying, police said.

    Drug maker Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, which employs 1,100 people at its ever expanding research and manufacturing facility at the University at Albany's East Campus, is looking to build a second campus in the town of East Greenbush with labs, office space, a warehouse and manufacturing off Exit 9 of Interstate 90. The site, called the Mill Creek Campus in plans submitted to the town, is only a few miles away from its current East Campus location. Both sites are in East Greenbush.

    Four people have been charged after the New York State Police allege they were involved in a statewide merchandise return scheme that involved the Target store in Amsterdam. - Phillip E. Mtui, 38, of East Greenbush for first-degree scheme to defraud, third-degree grand larceny, third-degree money laundering, fifth-degree conspiracy, and fourth-degree tampering with a witness on Jan. 13. Trooper said a joint investigation between the Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Latham and Canandaigua found that all four were part of an organized crew who traveled the Thruway corridor, buying iPads and replacing the tablets with ceramic tiles and then returning the box to Target stores.
