    Jonathan Charles Bridges, 39, of Easley and Billi Joe Garrett, 39, of Travelers Rest were arrested June 22 following the incident and were being held on bond Wednesday afternoon. The victim gave the two a ride to Waverly Drive in Pickens where Bridges pulled a knife and forced the victim from the car and drove away.

    Jon Humphrey, tournament director of the Big League World Series, addresses those gathered last Friday to announce the roster for this year's tournament. The BLWS will be held at the J.B. "Red" Owens Recreation Complex from July 26 through Aug. 2. The championship game will be televised live on ESPN at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 2. The 2016 Big League World Series team includes 17 players, including six who were members of last year's team that advanced to the semifinals.

    The Easley Police Department's flag was at half staff as well following the tragedy in Orlando and although at half staff was on full display for passersby. Main Street in Easley was colored red, white and blue as well Flag Day as businesses showed their patriotism June 14. EASLEY - June 14 was Flag Day, and although not a federal holiday complete with a paid day's vacation, there are still many Americans who observed the day by displaying the Stars and Stripes proudly.

    A lawsuit filed by homeowners in the Oak Creek subdivision under the corporation name "Franklin Horse Enterprise, LLC," against the City of Easley was recently settled when the city agreed to pay over $250,000 in legal fees and hire a storm water engineer. According to court documents, the lawsuit, filed in April of last year, alleged the city's mishandling of a drainage system in the subdivision that leaked, creating massive sinkholes and trenches on homeowner's properties.

    A missing Easley man was located in a wooded area not far from his home June 13 following an overnight search and call for the community's assistance by the Pickens County Sheriff's Office. Robert Billy Todd, 76, of 168 Poinsett Circle, could not be located and had last been seen sitting on his front porch at approximately 10:45 p.m. June 12 by his live-in girlfriend, the last person believed to have seen him.
