    DNA tests have revealed that the three brown bears shot and killed in the South Fork Eagle River Valley last week were not responsible for the two maulings in the area in June that left one man dead and another injured , according to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. DNA tests have also shown that the same brown bear sow killed Michael Soltis, 44, and later injured volunteer searcher Paul Vasquez, 51, said Fish and Game spokesman Ken Marsh.
