    Rodeos, fireworks and parades will highlight Cody's 99th Annual Stampede, which begins Sunday and runs through July 4, while Pavillion will start things a little early with a cookout, parade and fireworks on July 3. Riverton's 1838 Mountain Man Rendezvous will run through the Independence Day holiday, and visitors will get a chance to see activities such as black powder shooting and learn skills such as starting a fire with flint and steel. Dubois' Fourth of July celebration will feature a western parade, ice cream social and fireworks.

    Heavy rain on top of melting mountain snow is causing flooding along the upper Wind River in west-central Wyoming. The Wind River near Dubois is expected to fluctuate around flood stage Wednesday night through Friday morning.

    Wolf hunt area boundaries are being redrawn and quotas boosted because the Gros Ventre area's elk and Whiskey Mountain's bighorn sheep are shifting their winter ranges. In both cases there's little evidence wolf predation is driving populations down, but wildlife managers believe Canis lupus is a culprit in pushing ungulates off high-quality habitat during the hardest time of year.

    A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit from a Dubois woman who claimed Fremont County officials had prosecuted her maliciously for voter fraud. Prosecutors did drop the felony charges against Wells, but she ultimately pleaded no-contest to a lesser misdemeanor: disturbing a polling place.

    The Fremont County Sheriff's Office was notified about 7:20 a.m. Monday of an overdue hunter in the Dubois area. The person reporting the missing hunter told the Sheriff's Office that he and the missing person were supposed to meet Sunday at a trail head and establish camp ahead of elk hunt.
