    The Dover City Council has joined other local communities in passing a resolution advocating for the fair treatment of transgender individuals. Doug Marino, a student at the University of New Hampshire, sent an email to all nine councilors urging them to follow the example of neighboring municipalities and the state of New Hampshire by passing “resolutions supporting equal rights for transgender citizens.” The policy states that the council supports prohibiting discrimination based upon a person's gender identity and or expression and urges the state Legislature to amend current anti-discrimination laws for those identities in the areas of employment, housing and public accommodations.
