    Jose Alberto Sandoval Moya, of Douglas, was sentenced to serve 20 years in Federal prison for conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute methamphetamine weighing more than 50 grams. The sentence was handed down by Senior United States District Judge W. Louis Sands, Sr. Thursday in Albany Federal Court.

    Five arrest warrants have been issued for the murder of 30-year-old Tony Overstreet, Jr. who was found shot near the intersection of East 11th and North Ware streets in Alma Saturday, June 18. Alma Police responded to a shots fired call at the intersection around 10:30 Friday night and found an abandoned rental vehicle. The officers could not locate the driver and took the car into police custody.

    Claron Ronkiethius Carter was 19 when he took part in the cold-blooded murder of Daquavious Reed in July of 2013, in Coffee Co. Today, the Supreme Court of Georgia upheld Carter's convictions for malice murder and other crimes, but is sending the case back to the trial court to correct his sentencing.
