    DORSET >> The Dorset Select Board has voted to adopt several changes to the town's zoning ordinances that have been under discussion for more than a year. One of the most contentious and controversial issues has been setting the limits for the maximum allowable footprint size in the "Village Commercial" district centered on Church Street and Route 30. The Select Board ultimately sided with a recommendation from the town's planning commission, which recommended increasing the maximum allowable building footprint from 2,000 to 4,500 square foot, on building less of less than half an acre, or 30 percent of the buildable area, which ever is less.
