    Donald Ray Little Jr., Michael Bryan Chaplin and Matthew Daniel Chaplin were seen at the jail about 3 a.m. Friday and discovered missing about 35 minutes later, according to a Sunday news release from the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office. The three men escaped by breaking a metal table support bar from a table used for writing and then using it to pry out their second-story cell window.

    An eight-hour manhunt for three inmates who escaped from a Dorchester County jail early Friday was called off Saturday night due to the darkness and rough terrain. Earlier in the day, police said the inmates were contained in an area that stretched from the back of the Hamlets to Charleston Southern University and Interstate 26. Police say they will continue monitoring the area lightly, but that there are no plans to resume a full-fledged search on Sunday.

The residents are represented by lawyers Mike Rose and Andy Gowder, who also filed two complaints in May: one against the town on behalf of the Weatherstone Property Owners Association over the Bear Island extension through their neighborhood; another on behalf of Weatherstone and others against the town, Dorchester County Council and Dorchester 2 school board over the funding of the school resource officers.
