    The 23rd Judicial District Court reported Michael LeBlanc, 34, of Donaldsonville, was sentenced Wednesday to 18 years in prison by Judge Thomas Klieber and will get credit for time served. Officials said he was found guilty on Dec. 2, 2015 by an Ascension Parish jury on a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

    Officials with with the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals says that the water in Donaldsonville is now safe to use. Residents were told not to consume or use the water Tuesday night after the DHH notified the Peoples Water System of Donadsonville that the way the drinking water was being treated had to be changed immediately after possible elevated levels of chlorine were detected.
