    Palisade's Aly Schuman shot a 78 on Tuesday in the Class 4A Western Regional at Cobble Creek Golf Course in Montrose to finish third and qualify for the state tournament. Montrose's Brooke Brennecke struggled Tuesday at the Class 4A Western Regional at Cobbe Creek Golf Course, but she will still be going to the 4A state tournament after the Indians won their fifth straight regional title.

    He is survived by his wife, Dolores; a son, Jim of Falcon; four daughters, Jenny Redd, Judy Zezula and Connie Pickron, all of Colorado Springs, and Janette Rickard of Grand Junction; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Hotchkiss High School, with interment to follow at Garden of Memories Crawford.

    Wildlife officials are concerned after the budget for boat inspections at McPhee Reservoir was cut in half, despite a growing risk that an invasive mussel species spreading across western states could infect water in the reservoir. The non-native quagga and zebra mussels are wreaking havoc on reservoirs in Colorado, California, Arizona and Nevada, clogging reservoirs and substantially increasing maintenance costs.
