    At a recent City Council meeting, three incidences involving life saving by DeSoto Fire Rescue personnel were recognized. Captain Bryan Southard presented the awards saying that on average every three days in DeSoto, EMS personnel perform CPR on unconscious patients and are able to get a heart rate back in 40% of the cases, 12% of patients recover and leave the hospital.
