    A man accused of setting fire to a Desert Hot Springs home, where police found a seriously injured man inside the burning residence, was in custody blaze at a home in the 15600 block of Palm Drive, where a "badly injured" man was found inside "suffering from traumatic injuries consistent with an assault with a deadly weapon," according to the Desert Hot Springs Police Department.

Ricardo Gomez, of Desert Hot Springs, is accused of shooting at a black man, his wife and their 16-year-old son around 1:35 a.m. last Saturday at a hotel in the 2000 block of North Palm Canyon Drive.

Kelly Lee Phillips, 47, admitted responsibility for the Aug. 15, 2016, death of 59-year-old Desert Hot Springs resident Chandra Saras, whose body was discovered at a home at 61498 Mont Blanc Court.
