    The National Storm Prediction Center has kept the entire Chicago area under a Slight Risk of severe storms Friday and Saturday and a Marginal Risk Sunday . The greatest immediate risk for severe storms with damaging winds, large hail and flood-producing downpours here appears to be late this afternoon when storms could form along a warm front advancing north through our area and then later tonight into early Saturday when a Mesoscale Convective Complex of storms could form over Minnesota and Wisconsin and move southeast into northern Illinois and Chicago.

    Flood levels along two northern Illinois rivers looked to be falling after flooding this week but another round of rain has them rising again. National Weather Service hydrologist Steve Buan says that another 2 to 3 inches of rain that moved through northern Illinois Wednesday through Thursday was enough to have the Des Plaines and Fox rivers rising again.

In a small saucepot, combine the truffle peelings, Madeira and Cognac and bring to a simmer over low heat.
