Those words by Shannon Williams, Denmark Technical College's Director of the Academic Support Center, at the beginning of the college's March 31 Legislative Luncheon hinted at the good news that was to come at the end.

    It was 10 years ago that Thanksgiving became a time where "giving" meant a whole lot more than the traditional Thanksgiving with big meals, ballgames and sales before Christmas. In 2006 a group from First Baptist Church of Denmark with the help of other churches and businesses decided to give back to the community by providing a traditional Thanksgiving meal on Thanksgiving Day to anyone that would like to come.
