    The wreck happened on LA 447 north of LA 16 in Livingston Parish around 7 a.m. on Thursday, May 10. The crash claimed the lives of Harlan Hill, 29, of Denham Springs, and Mark Stephens, 40, of Zachary. LSP officials say the wreck happened as Hill was driving north on LA 447 in a 1992 Chevy Silverado, when at the same time, Earl Ray, 58, of Denham Springs, was driving south on the same road in a 2007 Dodge Ram.

Cervantes was convicted of first-degree rape of a juvenile under the age 13, a crime that carries a mandatory life sentence in prison, according to the Jefferson Parish district attorney.
