    It's not often the movie theater at the Starmax Entertainment Center in Deming gets a jump on all the multiplexes in the surrounding cities by being the first to show a big-budget Hollywood movie. But thanks to the initiative of Starmax Manager Ira Pearson, and the reversal of executives at Sony Pictures Entertainment, Starmax was the only movie theater in the region to show the comedy "The Interview" on Christmas Day, as had originally been intended.
