She is survived by four children, Randy McCullough of Continental, Cheryl Thornton of Bryan, Daryl McCullough of Defiance and Mark McCullough of Continental; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren: two brothers, Paul Ladd and William Ladd both of Cloverdale; seven sisters, Elizabeth Basinger of Cloverdale, Alice Evans of Florida, Edna Halter of Oakwood, Connie Brown of Defiance, Sue Wagner of Defiance, Margaret Strayer of Delphos and Marilyn Pier of Oakwood. The #24 Bluffton University women's basketball team capitalized on a great first half of basketball and held on for a 74-60 victory over rival Defiance College on Wednesday in the Sommer Center. Bluffton improved to 20-2 and remain in a tie atop the HCAC at 13-2 on the season, while the Yellow Jackets fell to 6-16 and 5-10 in conference play. Comment?
A cool and breezy day at the Eagle Rock Golf Course in Defiance made for difficult scoring conditions as golfers competed in the Division III sectional. For two local teams and two individuals they were able to brave the elements and advance to the Division III district tournament at the Stone Ridge Golf Course next Thursday. Comment?

After a record rainfall in June, the U.S. Department of Agriculture has designated eight western Ohio counties, including Van Wert County as natural disaster areas. The declaration means that agricultural producers in Van Wert and Putnam counties, as well as Butler, Darke, Defiance, Hamilton, Mercer, Paulding, and Preble counties are now eligible for assistance from the USDA. Joshah Rager's 73 earned medalist honors and paced the Lincolnview boys golfers to a second-place finish at the 8-team Tuesday's Old Fort Coed Invitational at Nature Trails Golf Club in Kansas. The Lady Lancers also played and they were paced by Macala Ashbaugh with a 95, Makenzie Kraft 102 and McKenzie Davis 105. Comment?
