    The company that owns the Papa Gino's pizza parlor and D'Angelo sandwich shop chains has confirmed it has closed about 95 "under-performing" locations, including three Papa Gino's in Worcester. Dedham-based PGHC Holdings Inc. said Monday that it has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and reached an "agreement in principle" to sell to Wynnchurch Capital, a private equity firm based in Rosemont, Illinois.

The citizen-petition article is sponsored by four Shrewsbury High School students who sponsored a similar article that was narrowly defeated at the annual town meeting in May. The previous article sought to prohibit local food establishments and town facilities – including the schools – from dispensing prepared foods in disposable food service containers made from expanded polystyrene .

    SHREWSBURY – In a late-night close vote, town meeting defeated an article drafted by four high school students that would have banned the use of Styrofoam food service containers in schools and restaurants. The annual town meeting, in its first session, also approved a fiscal 2019 budget of $122.3 million, a 1.88 percent increase over the current budget.
