    Georgann Johnson Prager Tenner, who, when she received the Distinguished Service Award from Luther College in 1970, was referred to as "Luther's first lady of stage, screen, and television", has died in Los Angeles, Calif. June 4, 2018, at the age of 91. Georgann, or Jo as she was known growing up, was born Aug. 15, 1926, in Decorah to George Johnson, owner of Peter Johnson and Son Plumbing and Heating on Washington Street, and Helene Hjerleid Johnson, and was younger sister to Decorah's own Phyllis Leseth.

De Johngh was a 40-year-old wife and mother from Hull who died June 9, 2015 as the result of negligence, according to her lead trial lawyers, Nicholas Rowley and Courtney Rowley of Trial Lawyers for Justice in Decorah.

    David Hansen, 46, Decorah, was charged with felony domestic abuse assault impeding air/blood flow after a Monday night incident in Decorah. According to the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a disturbance at a residence on Old Stage Road east of Decorah and Hansen was arrested and transported to the Winneshiek County Jail.
