A meeting has been scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Danan Lansing Building on the Winneshiek County Fairgrounds in Decorah Thursday, July 26, to discuss the establishment of a county ordinance to allow ATVs and UTVS on county roads.

    Caleb Fenske, 19, Ridgeway, was charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct and assault on a peace officer after a Tuesday incident at the Winneshiek County Fairgrounds. Decorah Police officers were called to the Fairgrounds at about 9:50 p.m. to investigate a report of an underage man running from Fair staff.

    Lonnie Steenhard, 61, Cresco, was airlifted to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester after he lost control of his motorcycle in Madison Township Sunday. According to the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office, Steenhard was westbound on Pole Line Road at about 2:45 p.m. when he entered a left hand curve, lost control and collided with the metal guardrail.

    A Winneshiek County Sheriff's deputy sustained serious, but non life-threatening injuries while attempting to serve a search warrant at a Decorah residence July 3. When deputies arrived at the residence, they observed Lance Souhrada, 44, Cresco, leaving. Souhrada had several active warrants out of a multitude of counties, according to the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office.
