    Smoke billowed from behind Wightman Hall until Sunday morning as ceramic students used a wood burning kiln to fire pottery. The wood kiln, which is located on the southwest side of Wightman Hall, burned from 7 a.m. Friday to 7:30 p.m. Sunday and reached 2,400 degrees, said ceramics Assistant Professor Greg Stahly.

    Isabella County Prosecutor Risa Scully announced on Monday that no charges will be filed in the case of Michael Hartnett, 18-year-old Dearborn Heights man who drowned in the Fabiano Botanical Garden pond during Homecoming Weekend. The decision hopefully brings closure to his family, friends and the Central Michigan University community.
