    DAYTONA BEACH - Local and federal authorities are investigating a store burglary that occurred while Hurricane Irma was bearing down on Daytona Beach and resulted in the theft of 35 handguns. Shortly after 1:20 a.m. Monday, a pair of burglars entered Volusia Gold & Diamond, 536 W. International Speedway Blvd., through the air-conditioning vent and stole jewelry and broke the glass showcase with a hammer, said owner Gus Osta, who on Friday was still fuming.

    DAYTONA BEACH - The wanted domestic violence suspect who led law enforcement on a high-speed chase Thursday morning along several crowded city streets nearly ran over two police officers and damaged four vehicles in the process, authorities said. The Daytona Beach Police Department on Thursday morning apprehended Julian Brown, 43, who was wanted on charges of false imprisonment, battery and violation of an injunction for protection.
