    The Spokesman-Review on Feb. 17, 1916 reported that a hog trader hired hog drivers to lead 746 hogs through three feet of snow from Hunters, Washington to Davenport, Washington. The newspaper also updated an earlier story about a man from Medicine Hat, Alberta, who was accused of violating U.S. neutrality laws by recruiting men to fight in World War I. L. Stubblefield needed to get 746 hogs to market in the dead of winter, so he embarked on a hog drive from Hunters, Washington, to Davenport.
