The Davis sisters have been performing in the area since their childhood and said they are always thrilled when they can play again for their fans at home in a setting that is serene and where the acoustics are superb. They also are a part of the Solstice string quartet that performed in the historical society's barn last month.

    Midcoast a cappella ensemble VoXX: Voice of Twenty's 2016 summer concert series will have its final performances Friday, July 8, at 7:30 p.m. at Union Hall, 2 Central St., Rockport; Saturday, July 9, at 7:30 p.m. at Belfast Free Library, 106 High St; and Sunday, July 10, at 4 p.m. at the Old South Cushing Baptist Church, owned by the Cushing Historical Society and located on Salt Pond Road, connecting Pleasant Point Road to Route 97. VoXX's program is titled Music of the New World and features works from the 16th century to the present, sacred and secular. VoXX will explore the unique musical history of North America including pieces by Barber, Franco, Billings, Bernstein, Glass and more.
