Executive Committee Chairman Cameron Tabor said earlier today that the vote at the closed-door meeting to drop the charges was 6-5.

    Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools is on track to join both the Currituck and Camden school districts by opening its own early college high school by next fall, a College of The Albemarle official said Wednesday. Dean Roughton, COA's dean of arts and sciences and secondary education, told members of COA's Policy and Planning Committee that Elizabeth City-Pasquotank officials plan to have their application for an early college completed by Aug. 30. If the COA Board of Trustees, the N.C. Community College System and the N.C. Department of Public Instruction approve the district's application, Elizabeth City-Pasquotank's early college will open next fall and be located on COA's campus in Elizabeth City.
