    Several lowa police departments are warning players of the smartphone game Pokemon Go to be aware of their surroundings for hazards including trespassing, traffic and even theft. The video game is fast-becoming one of the world's most-downloaded apps, but Sioux City Police Chief Doug Young says those searching for the virtual creatures shouldn't go on private property without permission: Young says he's not aware of any trespassing complaints in Sioux City as there have been in other cities.

    The Pottawattamie County Sheriff says 65-year-old John W. Rogers of Omaha, Nebraska, died when his single-engine plane crashed into the interstate median just north of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Authorities say Rogers experienced problems shortly after taking off from Omaha's Eppley Airfield, and was trying to turn around.
