    Perhaps following a trend nationwide of voter's distrust with incumbents, a number of surprises surfaced during the Aug. 30 mayoral primary election in the Verde Valley, including the ouster of one incumbent mayor and razor-thin victory of another. As of 9:46 p.m., the Yavapai County Recorder's Office reported 100 percent of ballots counted for the mayoral races in Camp Verde, Clarkdale and Jerome, with only Cottonwood pending with 40 percent of ballots counted.

    With 100 percent of the ballots counted as of 8 p.m. Aug. 30, former Cottonwood Council member Randy Garrison will become the new District 3 County Supervisor, defeating former Cottonwood Mayor Diane Joens by gaining 61.40 percent of the vote versus Joens' 38.43 percent. "I felt good about it, but then again, I felt good the last time I ran and I lost by a couple votes, so you never know," said Garrison.

White is in custody and charged with dangerous drug possession for sale, drug paraphernalia possession, credit card theft, forgery, aggravated taking identity of another person, and theft control property.
