Jackson Seybold scored five goals and recorded four field blocks and goalie Billy Motherway added 10 saves as top-seeded Mater Dei captured the inaugural CIF Southern California Division 1 regional championship with a 12-4 victory against third-seed Newport Harbor at Corona del Mar. In becoming the Mater Dei's first regional champion, the Monarchs again celebrated some of their eight field blocks more than their goals and raced to a 6-1 lead at halftime.
