    City of Corona police officials recently announced the arrest of a man wanted in connection with the November 2016 "gruesome murder" of Sharmon Jay Intili, a 46-year-old Corona resident and mother of two teenage daughters. The investigation into the bloody incident, that officials said "has been ongoing since the original 911 call was received," resulted in the arrest of Intili's ex-boyfriend, 42-year-old, Mark Aaron Brierley.

    One person was hospitalized for treatment of smoke inhalation after a home in Temescal Valley caught fire today, authorities said. The blaze inside the home in the 21000 block of Temescal Canyon Road was reported at 3:53 p.m., according to Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Tawny Cabral.
