It's official: The city's Fourth on the Brazos fireworks show is moving downstream to the McLane Stadium grounds and moving up an hour. The Independence Day celebration will move from its decades-old home at Indian Spring Park to the Touchdown Alley area at the Baylor University complex. Comment?

SMITH [email protected] Electrical problems caused by recent flooding may keep the bridges spanning the Brazos River on Interstate 35 from glowing Monday night, but city officials have made adjustments to ensure there's an even better fireworks show for Fourth on the Brazos. This will be the second year the city has hosted Fourth of July festivities at Touchdown Alley next to McLane Stadium after relocating from Indian Spring Park downtown. Comment?
Gates will open at 5 p.m. Monday for the city of Waco's Fourth on the Brazos celebration at McLane Stadium's Touchdown Alley. The event will feature live music from Smooth Jazz Generation at 6 p.m. and Big Sam's Funky Nation at 7:30 p.m., a corn-dog eating contest at 7:15 p.m., patriotic music from the Waco Community Band at 9 p.m. and fireworks at 9:15 p.m. Free parking will be available at McLane Stadium lots 1, 2 and 3, with handicap parking in lot 4; the Ferrell Center; the Dutton Street Parking Garage; the East Campus Parking Garage; and in lost along University Parks Drive on campus.
