    A 17-year-old Concord girl killed in a three-vehicle car crash on Sunday was identified by the Solano County Coroner's Office on Tuesday. Rickia Clayton, 17, of Concord was pronounced dead at 2:14 a.m. Sunday due to the injuries she suffered in the collision.

    The California Highway Patrol is investigating a crash on Interstate 80 that killed a 17-year-old Concord girl early Sunday morning in Vacaville. According to the CHP, the girl, whose name has not been released pending notification of next of kin, was stopped on the right hand shoulder of westbound Interstate 80 west of Leisure Town Road around 12:40 a.m. where she was putting gas in her 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. 12 comments

    Vacaville Unified leaders on Thursday named Jane Shamieh, the school district's chief business officer, as interim superintendent, effective July 1, succeeding Superintendent Ken Jacopetti, who last week said that he would retire on June 30. Whit Whitman, president of the seven-member governing board, made the announcement after trustees emerged from a closed session in the Educational Services Center. During a break in formal trustee business, Shamieh, standing in the hallway just outside board chambers, seemed at a loss for words to describe how she felt.
