    Columbus-based Synovus Financial Corp. said Thursday it is happy to have received the blessing of federal regulators for its pending role of helping Bass Pro Shops complete a roughly $4 billion purchase of outdoors retail rival Cabela's. Synovus said it expects its own purchase of bank assets owned by World's Foremost Bank, a subsidiary of Sidney, Neb.-based Cabela's, to be wrapped up before the end of September.
