Holly Dalton, who's admitted to stealing tens of thousands of dollars from landlords and tenants, originally demanded $150,000 in damages after two sheriff's deputies placed her in a holding cell with a "mentally unstable person" who nearly choked her to death, according to a letter from her attorney that the county received Nov. 3. The county investigated and determined that a fight broke out after the woman was placed in the 4th Judicial District Courthouse cell with Dalton, said county spokesman Dave Rose.
